Now make room for the work that’s yours to create.
I'm a creativity mentor who helps accomplished adults stop postponing the creative work that matters deeply to them.
You lead a full life.
But can you see enough of YOU in it?
You’ve accomplished things you’re proud of. Maybe you’re even busy doing work you enjoy.
But there’s something important your life still doesn’t have enough room for.
A book. A portfolio. A creative practice. A second career or business idea that needs to become real.
Maybe your path is difficult to name—but you know for certain that your life still doesn’t fully reflect who you really are. (Or who you’re becoming.)
Yet.
You don’t need to celebrate another birthday with that pit-in-the-stomach feeling that you’re not doing the work you need to do, or being the person you’re meant to be.
Make room for what matters. Now.
You don’t need to clear away the good life you’ve already built.
You do need to begin gently reallocating some of your resources toward the work and possibilities that make you feel most alive.
Your time. Your attention. Your energy. Your talent. Your courage. Your devotion.
This is the work we’ll do together.
When you’re accomplished and capable, it’s easy to assume you should be able to approach your creative life the same way you’ve approached other goals:
“Get clear. Make a plan. Be disciplined. Get it done.”
But doing your best creative work—and building a creative life you can sustain—requires something more than pressure and discipline.
First, we play.
We loosen the grip of productivity and outcome. We create spaciousness. We play and experiment. We review your creative history and help you release the things that may be keeping you stuck, discouraged or hesitant to begin again. And we take a practical look at the ecosystem surrounding your work—your time, energy, environment, commitments, habits, relationships and support.
Then we listen for what’s actually alive.
The project you thought you had to finish may indeed be the one.
Or our work may reveal something else entirely: a different project. A practice. A body of work. An emerging area of expertise. A venture or direction you couldn’t have named when we began.
Next, we cultivate conditions.
Once we discern what truly deserves more of your time and attention, we create the conditions you need to take sustained, focused action.
You begin making—and finishing—work that matters to you.
You’ll learn how your own creative process works—and you’ll learn to respect it.
We’ll develop practices, structures and ways of working that help you begin, keep going, return after interruption and bring meaningful work into form.
Not through relentless striving.
Through curiosity, courage and compassionate discipline.
Then things begin to move.
Completing something changes things. You gain confidence, new information—and greater clarity about what comes next.
We celebrate! Then we look closely at your experience. What can it teach you about what comes next?
What worked? What felt good? What surprised you? What are you learning about yourself? What new possibilities exist because you acted?
As you produce and complete projects that matter to you, something deeper develops alongside the work itself.
You trust yourself more.
You become more courageous about what matters to you.
You learn how to create the conditions for your own best work.
You become increasingly capable of giving your creative life a real place within the whole of your life—not at the expense of your body, relationships or responsibilities, but alongside them.
You produce work that matters—and your creative life becomes something you live, not something you keep postponing.
Gradually, your life starts to re-form around what really matters most.
For more than twenty years, I’ve helped intelligent, accomplished people understand what keeps their most important creative work from happening—and develop the practices, structures and self-trust they need to produce and complete work that matters, again and again.
This is my expertise: helping you move your most meaningful work from the edges of your life toward the vibrant center.
Ways to work together
Private Mentorship
Six to twelve months of one-to-one work for people ready to stop postponing something that matters—a creative project, practice, venture or transition.
Together, we’ll make room for your creative life, discover what deserves your attention now and build the conditions that allow you to do your best work. Then I’ll help you begin, keep going, make good decisions along the way—and finish what matters.
You won’t have to figure all of this out alone. I’ll be beside you as you work—helping you see what you can’t see from inside your own life, recognize possibilities and connections, work through obstacles and keep returning to what matters most.
Along the way, you’ll develop the practices, structures and self-trust to keep going long after our work together ends.
Lively Future Studio
A small, curated community for people who want ongoing structure, companionship and momentum as they make creative work a more central part of their lives.
Come with a project, a practice, a question—or simply the knowledge that something in you needs more room. You don’t have to make or hold that kind of space all on your own anymore.
You don’t have to spend years figuring this out on your own.
It’s difficult to see beyond the patterns you’re used to seeing—and difficult to see the whole shape of your own life from inside it. Especially when the world around you reflects and reinforces your current identity rather than the creative capacities you know you possess.
As we work together, I help you see your life and work more clearly. I listen deeply, noticing connections among your interests, talents, experiences, longings and personal history—opening up paths and possibilities you may never have imagined.
